Recap Post: Engage!12 Day 1 - The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL
Once or twice a year, I have the opportunity to attend engage!12 a Luxury Wedding Business Summit. Engage! is something I look forward to and is almost indescribable to those who ask - what is engage!12? and what do you learn? These are hard questions because it's not that easy to describe the full experience. Rebecca and Kathyrn create an environment that fosters "engaging" round the clock. There's a lot of networking, inspiring each other and creative thinking that goes on. When I return home, I always have new ideas and inspirations for the coming year. Honestly, my head is filled and I don't know where to begin - well yes I do, but more of that later! (wink wink) We also are treated like VIP's, which for anyone in the events industry is a treat because we're usually the one's doing the treating!
Here's a quick recap of our Day 1 at the Breakers (by the way - the Breakers Weddings is getting a post all it's own because they were so wonderful!): Upon arrival, anticipation grows as we wait to receive our swag bags. If you haven't seen an engage!12 swagbag they are amazing! So thoughtfully crafted and assembled. They are in inspiration all they're own. The ladies from Gifts For the Good Life are always surprising us. Mid-day we move on to the opening session. I am always so excited to see and hear Simon T. Bailey. His messages are always right on and he has impeccable timing for them. Our opening night party was filled with lots of southern fun. We were welcomed into a beautiful cleartop clearspan tent (sorry for the technical jargon) that was all decked out for the Boots 'n Bowties welcome party. It was so nice to catch up with everyone that I hadn't seen in a little over a year and meet some new industry friends! Here's just a few of my favorite images from day one....

Bridesmaid Gifts: Fun Necklaces Finds on Etsy
This little way to say thank you can be anything from shoes to monogramed running shorts and back again! But my favorite gift that seems to be trending out there in wedding world and that is the necklace! It is functional and fun! Your girls can wear it during the wedding and for many years to come! Also I love them because they can be inexpensive and are always super cute!! It all depends on what kind you want to get, but they can fit any budget. I also have an unhealthily obsession with etsy.com which is where my inspiration pictures came from today. All of these necklaces are super cute and would make the perfect gift for your bridesmaids (or even yourself!). Etsy has so many more options to fit any style of wedding, literally so perfect!!! Just type in whatever you like in to the search bar and see what comes up! Happy hunting!!

Dinner Is Served - Taco Muffins
I tried a new recipe yesterday evening and snapped a few images of the process. I posted them on all social media fronts and got lots of positive feed back. So much, in fact, that I thought I'd post it on the blog too!
I originally saw this pinned on Pinterest and I had to try it! Thankfully, this was super easy and took under 30 minutes to prepare the muffin cups!
So here's my version of Taco Muffins:
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef.
1 packet of taco seasoning (I like the lower sodium version).
1 package of wonton wrappers (hint: if you've looked at your grocery store and can't locate these, try the tofu section in the fridge section).
1 package of Mexican shredded cheese blend (The original version called for queso cheese but I'm not a fan so I used the shredded cheese instead).
Salsa or Pico de Gallo
Guacamole (for topping after baking)
Sour Cream (for topping after baking)
Green Onion (for topping after baking)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 375.
Follow the instruction on the taco seasoning packet - basically brown meat, drain fat, add 3/4 c water, add seasoning mix.
Grease muffing tin. (original recipe said to use oil, but I used baking Pam)
Put one wonton wrapper in each muffin cup. Push down gently but let it ruffle a little for cuteness.
Sprinkle Mexican cheese blend on top of wonton wrappers.
Add taco meat (about 2 teaspoons worth)
Add salsa or tomatoes or pico de gallo (about a teaspoon or two)
Top with more cheese.
Add a wonton wrapper to top of all of this. Be sure to tuck it in like a pie crust but still let it ruffle for cuteness. :)
Add cheese
Add taco meat
Add salsa, tomatoes or pico de gallo
Top with more cheese!
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Top with guacamole or sour cream and green onion!
Easy peasy!
Enjoy!

Kitties Cakes - A Cupcake Baker in Columbus Ohio
Image: Kasey's iphone
Look at these babies! How luck were we to receive a sample box of Kitties Cakes cupcakes in our studio? Needless to say we devoured them. Yep. The. Whole. Box. Not kidding!
Kitties Cakes is a hip new cupcake bakery in Columbus Ohio. Kelly and Molly run the show and do all of the yummi-ness creating. They use local and natural ingredients in their cakes.
Did I mention they have some amazing flavor combinations? I'm a big fan of the Potato Chip & Chocolate cupcake. It reminds me of the potato chip cookies mom used to make when I was little. Some of our other favorites was the Cookies 'n Cream (Ash's fave) and the PB&J = pure yummy!
We were thrilled to have Kitties Cakes on hand at Cakes For A Cause 2012 this year. They were new to the scene but took the competition by storm. They were voted best tasting cake by attendees and took home the Golden Spatula with them!
Kitties Cakes is also on Facebook, so be sure to stop by and "Like" their page to catch their latest flavors and exciting happenings!
ps - we're on Facebook too! Stop by our page and "Like" us if you haven't yet! xo Kasey

Pinterest - A Simple Getting Started Pinning Guide
Haley is one of our awesome 2012 Interns and she wanted to share a blog post on Pinterest - her (and everyone else) latest obsessions!
You just joined Pinterest and still have empty boards? Are you getting the daily “so and so is following your Pinterest” emails, thinking, “Well, I never update anything. Sorry followers.” I sure was, until I finally opened myself up to the fascinating realm of Pinterest. Here is how I got my Pinterest board flowing:
1. First, I browsed my friends’ boards. I went to Kasey’s, immediately became obsessed with everything on her Crafty board, and began repinning away.
2. After seeing some of Kasey’s pins, I noticed that she had repinned pictures from Emilie Duncan’s boards. I then explored her boards and started repinning my favorites.
3. Eventually I felt comfortable enough to begin uploading my own pictures that I felt people would like to see. Pictures from my trips to the Austrian Alps and Prague, for instance, made great pins!
4. Finally, I became a Pinterest expert, repinning, uploading, and liking my friends,’ followers,’ and everyone’s pins alike.
My board began with nothing and evolved into this in just a few days: http://pinterest.com/moorehaley1/. So take a look, repin what you like, and realize that you have amazing pictures and inspirations to share with the world too.

Making Your Wedding Day: The Boutonniere
Three weeks ago we shared with you a unique way for brides to make the boutique more personalized, but what about the man standing at the end of the aisle? He too can skip the flowers and sport something a little more "him" on the big day. The groom's lapel and personality will stand out when wearing any one of these creative boutonniere designs. The pairing of leaves and feathers by designer Easter Yu gives the boutonniere a more masculine feel,
