Alternative to Cake

Today, wedding cakes are still considered a focal point at a wedding reception. However, there are many couples that either do not like cake or just want to break tradition and do something truly unique to their personalities and style. So, what are the alternatives to the traditional wedding cake? The list is endless but here are a couple ideas to get you started:

  • Assorted mini pastry desserts








  • Candy buffet

  • Chocolate fountain with a variety of dipping foods








  • Doughnuts (Mmm, Krispy Kreme...)




  • Cinnamon rolls or funnel cakes






  • Ice Cream bar (a local favorite is Jeni's Ice Cream)

  • Sorbet (particularly refreshing after a heavy meal and my personal favorite)
