Cakes For A Cause 2013 - Coming Soon!

Cakes For A Cause is one of my favorite events of the year!   This year's event will be held Thursday, March 28th at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank from 6pm - 9pm.  We've got some really great bakers lined up and a lot of new faces joining us this year!  All of the event proceeds go directly back to the foodbank's Operation Feed Campaign. 

We've got five fantastic bakers competing in the Sweet Taste of Victory Competition vying for the Golden Spatula award.  Diva Desserts will be back trying to regain her 2011 title and Kitties Cakes will be back defending their 2012 title!  New to the competition this year is Sue Larson owner of LeGateau, Debby from Home Run Cakes and Cosette the Cake Chick!  I can't wait to see goodies they bring for everyone to sample!

Cameron Mitchell Catering, Made From Scratch and Two Caterers will be back serving their creative delicious hors d'oeurves.  The Sweet Carrot will also be back to greet guests as they arrive for the event!  Remember those amazing BBQ Sundaes from last year?  OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Operation Feed Day + Cakes For A Cause

March 1, 2012 marked the start to the 2012 Operation Feed Campaign.  I was honored to be asked to participate in the Operation Feed Day festivities by being a part of their Inspiration Panel Discussion and Happy Hour at the new Shadow Box in the Brewery District.  

Panel members included myself, Emilie Duncan (my partner in crime for Cakes For A Cause and Wedding Skills Workshop), Jeni Britton Bauer from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Roy Hall from the DRIVEN Foundation, Mark Mollenkopf from the Kroger Community Pantry and Martina Desgranges from Ohio Health and Operation Feed's Kitchen Cabinet.  Our panel was moderated by none other than the entertaining Johnny DiLoretto from FOX 28's Good Day Columbus.




Cakes For A Cause is coming up on April 5, 2012 from 6pm - 9pm at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank in Grove City.  We've got lots of sweet things planned for our live auction, silent auction and raffles!  In addition to the sweet treats we've added a few Sweet Experiences to our live auction line up!  Up for grabs is a private dinner for four hosted by NFL player and former Buckeye Roy Hall at Sushi Rock!

Monica Day from NBC 4 is returning to emcee another great event!  Our goal for 2012 is to raise 20,000 meals for hungry families in Central Ohio.  I know that with your support we can meet and far exceed this goal! Your admission ticket will feed one person for one month and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank's Operation Feed Campaign! You loved the silent and live auctions and raffles last year - they're all back but we've sweetened the deal for 2011!

Introducing the Sweet Victory Competition!

Five of Central Ohio's best bakers compete for your vote - they bake, you taste and vote to give one of them the taste of Sweet Victory! Winner takes all!

Tickets are $27 which include food from fantastic local caterers, cash bar and 5 tasting tickets and the Sweet Victory ballot so you can help award the Golden Spatula to your favorite baker! There might even be a special guest or two! It will be an evening of fun benefiting a great cause.
