TearDrop Weddings - A Contest!

My friend Holly over at TearDrop Weddings is holding a really fun contest I just had to share with my readers!

Holly is a very talented artists an creates custom stationary, wedding invitations, ect. She's based out of Canada , so don't worry that someone else around town will have the same invitation as you. It's totally unique just for you!

Here's a message from Holly about the contest:

I am constantly blogging about where I get my inspiration from and that you can be inspired by the most obscure thing. Well, my best source of inspiration comes from my brides and the blog of brides. So, I have a new and exciting contest for all you stylish and unique brides!

I am looking for 20 brides to inspire me. I want you to tell me your story about how you met your fiance, how you fell in love, your creative ideas and details for your wedding. I will choose the 20 brides that inspire me the most and design an invitation around that story. And in return, you will receive a custom designed invitation, but for the price of a design that you would choose out of our ready made collection!

So email me your stories ladies and good luck!
holly@teardropweddings.com

Good Luck and I hope to you as one of Holly's luck winners!

New Resource for Brides

So this evening I received an email from the lovely ladies at Elizabeth Anne Designs.  They were very excited to share some good news about a new resource that was created just for brides - the EAD Library.

"The Library is full of hundreds of useful links from photographers to shops to stationers.  Thier goal is simple - a comprehensive list of vendors.  The library will help every bride, no matter her location, find the vendors and inspriations she needs for a beautiful event" says Elizabeth and Anne.

Congratulations on the new addition ladies!

Real Weddings on EAD blog

I was so excited when I was asked to submit a real wedding to Elizabeth Anne Designs Blog. Today we're featured on thier blog talking about Greg & Fefe's February 2008 wedding in Columbus.

They're just too cute!

Dinner Party

I had the pleasure of spending my Saturday evening with a few of my best girlfriends.  Tracie hosted a dinner party for us at her new house!  On the menu was grilled swordfish with a mango salsa, risotto and a dried cherry and balamic salad.  For dessert was homemade chocolate cream pie.  Out cocktail of the night was a bikini martini.  Very tropical and just perfect for a summer evening.

Tracie is an event planner herself so I couldn't wait to see the table she had set!  As usual she didn't disappoint!

They're going to kill me for posting this one but that's too bad!  I'd like to introduce the girls: (L to R) Roni, Tracie and Ali.  We're missing one person though - Shannon.  She's in Cincy with her new baby boy Anthony!  Hopefully we'll see her at the next dinner party.

A Little Vaca!

Last week we took a quick trip to Virginia to visit family.  We had a great time just hanging out and relaxing.  I thought I'd share a few pics from the trip.

We're on our way!

At the pool hanging out, having a few fruit snacks!

I love baby kisses!

We had dinner at the Yorktown Pub one night...interesting to say the least.

We took a drive down Colonial Parkway.  Very scenic and the strangest "highway" I've ever been on.

We took a tour of the USS Wisconsin.  It was HUGE!

Not sure who those people are : )  ...but you can get a feel for how giant these ships are.

An afternoon at the playground.

Wasting time in Detroit waiting for our flight...good time for a nap!

A Banner Day

Last week my latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings arrived.  There was one article in particular that grabbed my attention.  There are several downloadable templates online now that you can use to make customizable banners for the wedding.  I absolutely love the templates for creating a banner that can be used in a number of locations.  My first thought was a new twist on the Just Married sign on the getaway car.  Whether you are spelling out Just Married or your monogram and date this can be a unique and very personal way to add to your wedding decor.   Another idea is to create a banner that can be hung somewhere in the wedding - Welcoming your guests or saything 'Thank You' at the end of the night.

Clue #2

Most people know that I live in Victorian Village - just north of Downtown.  In this neighborhood there is little area along High Street called the Short North.  In the Short North there are great little boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses and art galleries.  I've talked about how great it is to live in this area because of convenience to get to my favorite places without having to load up the car.  Instead I load up the BOB stroller and off we go!  It only made sense when it came time to look for a place to call home to Bliss to look with in the neighborhood.

Now the question is "Where in the Short North is Bliss Weddings & Events?".   In due time my friends, in due time.

Tiny Bubbles

This weekend in Victorian Village was Comfest.  A huge festival that takes place in Goodale park for 3 full days.  I always love this time of year.  Great people watching and yummy fair food!

I tried something new this year and it's my new favoirte thing!  Bubble Tea!  I've been wanting to try it for a while now because those tiny little bubbles at the bottom of the glass looked so interesting.  I'll tell ya what - if you love smoothies and gummies this is a perfect match.  The ladies at Bubbles Tea & Juice Company made us a Tropical Tempatation smoothie with bubbles that ROCKED!

Thank goodness they are located in the North Market so I can run by to get my fix!  YUM!
